If we are willing to slow down enough, stop, and listen to God's precious Word it will take your breath away! The fact that those (you and me) that deserve eternal death, eternal separation from God are offered a way to NOT go to hell, but beyond that are adopted as HIS children...WOW! I'm sorry but my vocabulary, any vocabulary fails here...this is stunning, mind blowing and yes, breath taking...eternally breath taking! Ponder this for a moment...most would plead for mercy when faced with being cast into eternal damnation and they would be grateful if they received mercy. Please let the impact of this next thought penetrate your heart and soul...would you in a billion or trillion years ever thought to ask the sovereign God of the universe, creator, sustainer and maker of all things to send HIS only Son to die in your place? Let me think...NOT!
In Romans Paul uses the following argument. “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (Romans 8:32) What is everything else? Himself! Paul tells us earlier in Romans that God gives us HIS Spirit...For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” (Romans 5:5) The fact that HE comes to dwell within us is amazing enough...but adoption! “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”” (Romans 8:15)
Jesus taught us to pray...our Father in Heaven, our Father, our Father...Hallowed be thy Name! HE call HIS children to enjoy an amazing and breath taking intimate relationship with HIM for HIS glory and our JOY in HIM.

This is something I would need to read over and over to understand fully it's impact, and even then I think my understanding would fall way short. He really IS an awesome God and totally loving Father.
